"Wouldn't
You Like to Know"
by Artemis
What I am is not what
you see
It's not how I look, what I wear, or my skin color
What I am cannot be found on the outside;
It is not seen through my sex or my sexuality.
Wouldn't you like to know who I am?
Am I a stereotype?
Am I someone's prejudices?
Am I my family?
Am I my society?
Wouldn't you like to know who I am?
I am not your rigid
formulas.
I am not your labels.
I am not what you think I am.
Wouldn't you be surprised to know...
That I am without a name.
Because your classification system is meaningless to me.
No. I am me,
Myself, a person born to this world of judgment,
Someone who wishes not to be judged,
Just me who wants to be me and is not allowed to
Because of your stringent rules for my family and the world.
No. I am me.
Now wouldn't you like to know who I am?
